Sam Mustafa’s rise from humble beginnings, passion for the food industry, and undoubtable work ethic have made him one of the most influential restaurant CEOs in the country. Mustafa moved to America from his hometown in Kuwait to pursue a degree from the University of Illinois. It was during his time working food service jobs throughout college that Mustafa found an unbridled passion for the food industry and knew he wanted to build an empire of his own.
With that in mind, the restaurateur saved his money to create his first restaurant concept, Sam’s Cafe. After finishing college and saving his earnings, Sam stumbled upon Charleston, where his entrepreneurial ambitions sparked more success than he imagined.
In 2008, Mustafa founded Charleston Hospitality Group (CHG), where he serves as CEO of 11 restaurants and entertainment venues within the South Carolina Lowcountry. CHG’s 11 restaurants embody the meaning behind “hard work pays off”. Mustafa guarantees a top-of-the-line dining experience in order to provide Charleston’s visitors and residents the five-star experience they deserve.
Mustafa is grateful for his accomplishments and plans to expand his hospitality empire in the near future.
