Hookah Me Up

Tabbuli Offers the Ultimate Flavor
There are times when you want a smoke with your drink, but you aren’t into cigarettes or cigars. There are also times when you’re wandering the streets of Charleston, searching for something new and different to do – maybe for yourself or for visitors from another town whom you’re trying to impress. In any of these cases, visit Tabbuli for the ultimate hookah experience.
The outdoor patio at Tabbuli makes a great place to relax with one of their hookahs. Order one for the table and choose either a single mouthwatering flavor – strawberry, watermelon and mint to name just a few – or, create a combination. I recently brought my friend John to Tabbuli for a hookah and we tried a delectable mixture of melon and mango. It was so good that I didn’t want to end. And I kept tasting it hours later! Delicious.
For an even more tantalizing experience with the hookah, try the Ultimate Hookah, made with an entire fruit bottom of either watermelon, cantaloupe or pineapple, or one of the specialty flavors.
Cleverly named things like “I Just Mint You,” these concoctions, which the Tabbuli staff invented and prepare fresh for your table, include fruit flavors plus a shot of liquor in the bottom for an extra kick.
For the full list of hookah flavors and special blends, visit Tabbuli at 6 North Market Street, near the cruise terminal. Your friendly server or bartender will assist you.
Talk about exhaling happiness.

Whew–is it us, or did last week fly by? Between graduation (congrats, graduates!), Mother’s Day, and everything else in between, it was a busy week.
Thankfully, it’s Taco Tuesday, and we’ve got some delicious tacos and cocktails waiting on you. So grab the dog (we love seeing our furry friends on the patio) and your friends, and come unwind with us.
What’s on tonight’s menu? Chef Scott Vosburgh came up with the following: Tequila Lime Shrimp, Spicy Kofta, and Churrasco Chicken…need we say more?
Oh, and don’t forget—we LOVE hearing from you. Let us know how we’re doing and keep us up-to-date with your favorite taco flavors.
Happy Taco Tuesday, everyone!
Photo: Last week’s Char Siu Brisket…mmm!
Still nursing your Cinco de Mayo wounds? We are, too. But fret not—we’ve got a little something to put some serious pep in your Tuesday step. Enter: Taco Tuesdays at Tabbuli.
Beginning today at 4 p.m., Chef Scott Vosburgh will serve up a mouth-watering medley of tacos (Churrasco Chicken, Chipotle BBQ Shrimp, and the Char Siu Brisket are among some of today’s specialties) for a whopping $3 a pop. Even better? These specials last all night, so those of you loggin’ in too many office hours have no excuse not to get your taco fix.
If happy hour helps get you over the Tuesday blues, try one of our specialty margaritas (we hear the Texas Margarita with the Grand Marnier floater is extra tasty).
Questions or taco concerns? Give us a ring at (843) 628-5959 or reach out to us on Facebook. Better yet, mosey on over, sit a spell on our patio, and chat with us in person. We can’t wait to see you!
Join us on Thursday, March 22 from 8 p.m. to 12 a.m. for Pay It Fashion Forward at Tabbuli. Come out and help us recognize and celebrate the staff and crew behind the most stylish event of the year, Charleston Fashion Week. Our after party is sponsored by Absolut and will be held on our amazing patio – the best outdoor dining location in downtown Charleston. Absolut will be featuring Grapevine Clear Cosmos. Tabbuli will have fabulous bites, cocktails and lots of pretty people – don’t miss it!
New Executive Chef Scott Vosburgh appeared last Wednesday alongside Charleston Hospitality Group‘s Chef Brett McKee to promote Tabbuli Grill’s new menu items. Chef Scott prepared the amazing Ahi Tuna Poke on air and Lowcountry Live host Dave Williams seemed very impressed with the dish.
Tabbuli will be appearing alongside sister restaurants Eli’s Table, Whisk Bakery, and Market Street Saloon at the Grand Tasting Tents in the culinary village this weekend at the Charleston Wine + Food Festival. Be sure to look for us on Saturday morning to sample some of our fabulous food.
We shared recently that we would be announcing a new menu at Tabbuli. We are not quite ready to announce the whole menu, as Chefs Brett McKee, Eric Gaffin and Scott Vosburgh are still putting their finishing touches and preparing the kitchen for the new menu.
We do have some sneak peak photos from the weekend (in the slideshow), thanks to Chef Eric Gaffin/New Dream Photography. Eric captured several of our new dishes along with several beauty shots at Tabbuli. Stay tuned for the release of the full menu.
For now, we can give you this little hint- think Mediterranean + raw bar + tapas.
Tabbuli Grill has awesome news and we are breaking the news here first!
February 17th is Tabbuli Grill’s big day – that is when we launch our new menu, featuring an all new tapas menu and a raw bar. Under the direction of Chef Eric Gaffin, Tabbuli Grill is reworking it’s current menu to bring you more variety for menu options and flavors. The menu is currently under revision, so we cannot reveal any of the top secret new menu items yet – but as the time gets closer, we’ll show you some of the tasty new items you can expect.
Eric is also heading up our newest company within Charleston Hospitality Group – Charleston Hospitality Catering. He is currently booking events and Tabbuli Grill is proving to be a popular place for rehearsal dinners. With the beautiful covered patio and fountains, our patio is a phenomenal place to host your event, no matter what the occasion. If you would like to schedule an event at Tabbuli Grill, you can reach Chef Eric at firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you have never really tried Mediterranean cuisine, you may be wondering about some of the items on the menu at Tabbuli Grill. Today, we are talking pitas! According to Wikipedia, a pita “is a round pocket bread widely consumed in many Middle Eastern, Mediterranean and Balkan cuisines. It is prevalent in Greece, the Balkans, the Levant, the Arabian Peninsula and Turkey.”
Pita bread is round, but puffs up when cooking due to the steam created while the bread is baking. After the bread cools and flattens, the bread can be cut open to reveal a pocket in the middle, which is perfect for stuffing with any number of toppings.
At Tabbuli Grill, we love pitas and have a variety for our guests to choose from. And, whether you’ve never had a pita, or you’ve tried them several times, Tabbuli Grill has eight different pitas to try – including beef, lamb, shrimp, chicken, falafel, kofta, ‘you choose’ and a gyro pita.
